Maren Morris is clapping back at criticism she faced when she took her four-year-old son Hayes to a drag show.
The 34-year-old singer appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday, where she explained why she took Hayes to the show.
'It was an all-ages show, so it was completely family-friendly. We were doing a benefit at Bridgestone last year when they were doing the drag ban in Tennessee,' Morris said.
She later clapped back when a fan blasted her on Instagram, stating, 'Enough with taking children to drag shows!'
'Ok this ‘save the children’ plea always seems to distract from what we’re actually talking about,' Maren responded on Instagram.

'If you’re making the ‘exposure to children’ argument, there are a lot of gowns in Catholicism, makeup and powdered wigs in theatre historically worn by only men, Mrs. Doubtfire that charmed our childhoods…the list goes endlessly on,' she said.
'Drag is centuries-long performance art and some drag is only for adults. The performance I referenced in this interview was a charity all-ages show to protest the unlawful drag ban in Tennessee that was rightfully overturned,' she added.
Morris welcomed Hayes with then-husband Ryan Hurd, who she split with in October 2023, during the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown.
'I had my son the week the world shut down during the pandemic. So every part of his first year was us being stuck inside, which was kind of a gift because like we just got to witness every first moment with our baby, and not miss anything,' she began.
Morris added that her tour that year was canceled, though her son was, 'a beautiful silver lining to Covid.'
'Like that year was just getting to be home with him. But I do think motherhood and like the pandemic really changed my outlook on like going out, because I love to go out. I love having like, girls nights, good dinners. Love being in New York, but like, if anyone invites me to dinner past 6:00 PM like I'm not coming,' she said.
'I'm like, if you invite, if somebody's like, "Oh, it's at nine, I'm like, have fun." I'll already be in bed. I have to be up at like 6:00 AM. No sir,' she said.
Morris also spoke about her new album, stating, 'It's been a slew of songs that have come out of the rainclouds.'

Maren also touched on her crazy — and 'healing' — last few months while recording new music after her divorce from Ryan Hurd.
Maren also opened up about recording Some Things I'll Never Know with Teddy Swims while sick. And she and hilariously compared it to Phoebe Buffay's 'sexy cold voice' in Friends.
In the latest Kellyoke, Clarkson and My Band Y'all perform a cover of Ain't Nobody'by Chaka Khan.
Morris and long-time best friend Karina Argow chatted about on their new children's book Addie Ant Goes on An Adventure, featuring a slew of pop culture Easter eggs they included specifically for adults to spot — like their Jane Fonda-inspired butterfly character.
Maren shared her dream of making a companion album for the book, and Kelly pitched a children's television show.
